Alcohol-free is on the rise: 'People no longer feel like a hangover'
The Dutch more often order an alcohol-free beer or a mocktail. The range of such drinks is steadily growing. Thanks in part to entrepreneur Wim Boekema, who now has four alcohol-free liquor stores throughout the country with Nix & Nix. "Once the December and January rush is over, we will continue to look at expansion."
"The door is closed, but we are open", is posted at the Amersfoort branch of Nix & Nix. The beverage trader also has to think about the energy bill. There are a few customers walking around inside. When they pay and walk out again, Boekema cheerfully says hello. "Thanks, enjoy! And happy holidays!"
